Jim Sullivan, Training Director for Central Florida Electrical JATC since 1987, has 36 years in the electrical industry. He has held many positions in the electrical field including superintendent, general foreman, foreman, high voltage cable splicer, welder, journeyman electrician and apprentice electrician. He taught as a part-time instructor in the apprenticeship program before assuming a full time teaching position with the apprenticeship program. His formal education includes a Master of Education from University of Central Florida, a B. S. degree in Vocational Education from UCF, an A.A. from Valencia Community College, Certificate of Completion for The National Instructor Training Institute from University of Tennessee and an Apprenticeship Certificate from Central Florida Electrical JATC. He is currently the chairman of the National Education Committee for the NETDA and chairman for the Florida Apprenticeship Conference. He sits on several advisory committees for vocational education in Central Florida and an advisory committee to the National Training Institute/University of Tennessee. Juan Santos is a second generation electrician. Juan started in the trade working summers while still in high school for an electrical contractor in Houston Texas. Juan formally joined the apprenticeship program in 1989 and excelled to achieve his Journeyman License in 1993; in 1994 he completed the apprenticeship program. Today he has over twenty years experience in the field, seven of those years has been working as Lead Instructor for the Central FL Electrical JATC. Juan also has a degree in business from Southern College and a Master Instructor from the National Training Institute/University of Tennessee. Among other things Juan has achieved certifications in Photovoltaic, Who’s who Among Junior Colleges, State of Florida District Teacher’s certificate, OSHA U.S. Department of Labor outreach trainer. santosj@cfl.rr.com |
